Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corp is planning to set up Shutkari Kulan HEP in Ganderbal district of the state. The project involves setting up of a barrage across river Sindh to generate 84 MW of power with run-off-the river scheme. Land required for the project is around 65.5 ha and a surface power house is likely to be constructed on the left bank of river near Kulan village with 2 units of 42 MW capacity each. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 7140 million.
